The Borough of Bogota has had a recent increase in thefts from motor
vehicles. The actors are predominantly targeting vehicles which have been
left unlocked. They are removing items and valuables from within these
unsecure vehicles. Most incidents are taken place after midnight and in
private driveways. There has been one instance where a motor vehicle has
been stolen.
The Bogota Police Department is asking that residents secure their vehicles
and also remove any items of value from their vehicle when not in use.
This would include removing GPS and MP3 Player Mounts which spark the interest
for the actors to look further. In addition we ask for your assistance in
immediately reporting any suspicious activity to the Bogota Police Department
either via 911 or directly at 201-487-2400.
