**NEW BORO TRAFFIC ORDINANCE**
EFFECTIVE FRIDAY, APRIL 11, 2008
There will be several
changes to the Borough of Bogota
Traffic Ordinances that will affect traffic and parking in the
area of Steen School. It is expected that these changes
will improve the flow of traffic on Orchard Terrace
and most importantly make the area around the school safer for the
children. It is anticipated that these changes will go into
effect on or about Friday, April 11, 2008.
New signs will be
placed in this area to designate the parking and traffic changes.
The new regulations are outlined as follows:
-
Orchard Terrace
(between West Fort Lee Road and
West Main Street) will become a one-way street at
all times, going northbound.
-
Drivers will only
be permitted to make a right turn
from Orchard Terrace onto West Main Street from
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM on days when school is in session.
-
The existing 5
(five) minute parking on Orchard Terrace
adjacent to the school will be eliminated and will
become a no parking zone from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
on School Days. Drivers will be allowed to stop in this
area only for the purpose of discharging passengers
(curb side only) and drive away as soon as the passenger
has exited the vehicle. No vehicles will be allowed to
stop and stand in this or any other no parking zone.
NOTE: Parking on Fridays from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM
will still be restricted on Orchard Terrace in the area
of the school.
Please abide by the
signage where parking is restricted.
Your cooperation is needed in making this an orderly transition,
and is necessary to ensure the safety of the children.
Thank you in advance for your anticipated cooperation
in this important matter.
