The Department of Public works is responsible sanitation within the borough, and for the collection of recycling, maintenance and tree services, as well as repair and maintenance of borough buildings, and the upkeep of our parks and athletic fields. 

Please note: 

Do not recycle plastic bags or put recyclable bottles and cans in plastic bags.  Plastic bags from stores should be thrown out with regular garbage or brought to Borough Hall.

  • No household waste or trash is to be placed out for pickup on a weekend or prior to 4:00om on the evening before scheduled pick-up.  Please call with quesitons about special circumstanaces.

Borough Ordinance 14-4.3
Persons Required to Provide Private Garbage Bags Removal

It should be the duty of all occupants of residential, public and business buildings where garbage, ashes or refuse of any kind accumulates to the extent of one (1) or more cubic yards per week, to remove at their own expense all such garbage, ashes or refuse, and they shall maintain their own receptacle for the same of a suitable nature. (Ordinance: 3/10/27, S3)
