Job Title: Summer Camp Counselor
Job Summary:
The Summer Camp Counselor plays a vital role in creating a fun, safe, and engaging environment for campers. Reporting to the Camp Director and Assistant Camp Director, counselors are responsible for supervising campers, leading activities, and ensuring a positive camp experience. This role requires enthusiasm, responsibility, and strong leadership skills to foster a memorable summer for all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
● Supervise and engage campers in daily activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
● Lead and participate in recreational activities, including sports, arts and crafts, and group games.
● Assist with organizing and executing camp events, field trips, and special programs.
● Monitor and enforce camp rules and safety guidelines.
● Conduct daily headcounts and assist in maintaining camper accountability.
● Assist with lunch distribution, pool supervision, and transition between activities.
● Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment by promoting teamwork and respect.
● Communicate effectively with campers, fellow staff, and camp leadership.
● Provide first aid assistance when needed and report any incidents to the Camp Director or Assistant Camp Director.
● Help maintain cleanliness and organization of camp facilities.
Qualifications:
● Must be at least 16 years old.
● Previous experience working with children preferred.
● Strong communication and leadership skills.
● Ability to work well in a team environment.
● CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain before camp starts) is a plus.
