Bogota Borough Administrator

The Borough of Bogota is seeking a full-time experienced Borough Administrator available to begin employment May, 2022. The Borough is a municipality with an approximate 10,000 population (non-civil service).


The Borough Administrator serves as the principal administrative officer of the Borough, implementing Mayor and Council policies and providing organizational leadership for department heads and employees/volunteers while overseeing the day-to-day operations of Borough services to ensure the goals, objectives and personnel policies of the Borough are properly applied and executed in a congenial environment.


The ideal candidate should demonstrate the skills to collaboratively work with the Mayor, Council and staff to prioritize and articulate goals of the municipal government and the needs of the community. The candidate must demonstrate strong leadership skills and problem-solving skills, political astuteness, and have experience in contract negotiations and management, budget preparation/implementation, human resources, redevelopment, and the ability to set clear expectations with the staff and the capability to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing) within the organization as well as with the public. Responsibilities include overseeing municipal services, the municipal operating budget and capital planning, labor relations and collective bargaining negotiations and agreements, public safety, and CRS. Attendance is required at bi-monthly evening Borough Council meetings.


Requirements: BS/BA with a minimum of at least 3 years administrative experience in Government in the State of N.J.  MBA or MPA is a plus. Must be a resident of N.J.

Bogota Police Officer

POLICE OFFICER- BOGOTA BOROUGH (Bergen County). The Bogota Police Department is accepting resumes for position of Police Officer. 


Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License.  Must be PTC certified in the State of New Jersey, salary and benefits are in accordance with the labor agreement.

Bogota Special Police Officer

CLASS III SPECIAL POLICE OFFICER-BOGOTA BOROUGH (Bergen County). The Bogota Police Department is accepting resumes for position of Class III Special Police Officer for the Bogota School District. 


Applicant must be a retired law enforcement officer, less than 65 years of age who served as a duly qualified, fully trained, full time officer in any municipality or county of this State or as a member of the New Jersey State Police and is separated from service within 3 years of appointment to this position.  Must have a valid New Jersey Driver’s License, pass a psychological exam, medical exam and drug screen and possess a NJ PTC Basic Police Officer Certificate or NJSP Academy Certificate.

Deputy Borough Clerk / Registrar

The Borough of Bogota is seeking interested applicants for the full-time position of Deputy Borough Clerk/Registrar.  

Applicants must have excellent communication, clerical, organizational and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.  Applicants must have the ability to interact well with the public and will be responsible for assistance with agendas, minutes, OPRA requests, licensing, elections, records management and other responsibilities.  


Municipal Government experience, Registered Municipal Clerk (RMC) and/or Certified Municipal Registrar (CMR) certifications are preferred or willing to obtain certifications. Bachelor’s degree and Bilingual in Spanish a plus. This is a full-time position.
