Volunteers Needed

The department is always looking to add dedicated volunteers to its ranks.  Initial Firefighter Training is provided at the Bergen County Fire Academy in Mahwah at no cost to the volunteer, and all protective gear is also provided by the Borough.

Fire Safety Tips

  • Check your smoke detector batteries often.  Any smoke or carbon monoxide detector more than 10 years old should be replaced

  • Avoid overloading outlets in your home.

  • Never leave your kitchen while cooking.

  • During a power outage, it's safer to use flashlights rather than burning candles.
